2, Psalm 1; Genesis 2; 1 Chronicles 2; Luke 1:26-56

Psalm 1

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 62 I
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 74 I
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 50 I
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 22 I
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 30 I
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. 31 I

Genesis 2

1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 27 I
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 28 I
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. 45 I
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, 10 I
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 10 I
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. 14 I
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 21 I
8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 10 I
9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. 10 I
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. 10 I
11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; 10 I
12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. 10 I
13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. 10 I
14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. 10 I
15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. 12 I
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 10 I
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. 18 I
18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 10 I
19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. 12 I
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. 10 I
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 10 I
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 10 I
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 12 I
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 20 I
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. 10 I

Luke 1

26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 4 I
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. 4 I
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 4 I
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 4 I
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 8 I
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. 6 I
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 2 I
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 2 I
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 2 I
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 4 I
36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. 28 I
38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. 2 I
39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 2 I
42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 2 I
43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 4 I
45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. 4 I
46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 2 I
47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. 2 I
48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 2 I
49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. 2 I
50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. 2 I
51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 2 I
52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 2 I
53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. 2 I
54 He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; 2 I
55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever. 2 I
56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
