26, Song of Solomon 4:9-5:1; Judges 5; Jeremiah 21; Hebrews 3:7-4:13

Song of Solomon 4

16 Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits. 4 I
9 Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.
10 How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices! 2 I
11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.
12 A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.
13 Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard,
14 Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices:
15 A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. 2 I

Song of Solomon 5

1 I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.

Judges 5

1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying, 10 I
2 Praise ye the Lord for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves. 10 I
3 Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel. 14 I
4 Lord, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water. 12 I
5 The mountains melted from before the Lord, even that Sinai from before the Lord God of Israel. 14 I
6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways. 10 I
7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel. 10 I
8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel? 10 I
9 My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the Lord. 12 I
10 Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way. 10 I
11 They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the Lord, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the Lord go down to the gates. 10 I
12 Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam. 10 I
13 Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the Lord made me have dominion over the mighty. 10 I
14 Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer. 10 I
15 And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart. 10 I
16 Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart. 16 I
17 Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches. 12 I
18 Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field. 12 I
19 The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money. 10 I
20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera. 10 I
21 The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength. 10 I
22 Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones. 10 I
23 Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the Lord, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the Lord, to the help of the Lord against the mighty. 10 I
24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent. 10 I
25 He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish. 10 I
26 She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen’s hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples. 10 I
27 At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead. 10 I
28 The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots? 10 I
29 Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself, 10 I
30 Have they not sped? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil? 10 I
31 So let all thine enemies perish, O Lord: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years. 17 I

Jeremiah 21

1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,
2 Enquire, I pray thee, of the Lord for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that the Lord will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.
3 Then said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah:
4 Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
5 And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.
6 And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence.
7 And afterward, saith the Lord, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.
8 And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death. 6 I
9 He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.
10 For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the Lord: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
11 And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the Lord;
12 O house of David, thus saith the Lord; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings. 2 I
13 Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the valley, and rock of the plain, saith the Lord; which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?
14 But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the Lord: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it. 4 I

Hebrews 3

9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 3 I
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 3 I
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) 3 I
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 9 I
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 18 I
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 14 I
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. 9 I
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 3 I
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 3 I
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 7 I
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. 7 I
7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 9 I
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 I

Hebrews 4

1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 10 I
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 6 I
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 5 I
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 9 I
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. 3 I
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: 3 I
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 5 I
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 2 I
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 7 I
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 9 I
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 5 I
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 25 I
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 6 I
