Psalm 33

1 Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. 40 I
2 Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. 6 I
3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. 6 I
4 For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth. 12 I
5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. 8 I
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 14 I
7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 I
9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. 10 I
10 The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. 2 I
11 The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. 2 I
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. 8 I
13 The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. 2 I
15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works. 4 I
16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. 4 I
17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. 4 I
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; 9 I
19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. 7 I
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield. 14 I
21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 10 I
22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. 12 I

Genesis 29

31 And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren. 10 I
32 And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me. 10 I
33 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the Lord hath heard I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon. 10 I
34 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi. 10 I
35 And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the Lord: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing. 10 I

Genesis 30

1 And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die. 10 I
2 And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb? 10 I
3 And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her. 10 I
34 And Laban said, Behold, I would it might be according to thy word. 10 I
35 And he removed that day the he goats that were ringstraked and spotted, and all the she goats that were speckled and spotted, and every one that had some white in it, and all the brown among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons. 10 I
36 And he set three days’ journey betwixt himself and Jacob: and Jacob fed the rest of Laban’s flocks. 12 I
37 And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods. 9 I
38 And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink. 10 I
39 And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted. 12 I
40 And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not unto Laban’s cattle. 10 I
41 And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods. 10 I
42 But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: so the feebler were Laban’s, and the stronger Jacob’s. 10 I
43 And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses. 10 I
4 And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her. 10 I
5 And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son. 10 I
6 And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan. 10 I
7 And Bilhah Rachel’s maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son. 10 I
8 And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali. 10 I
9 When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife. 10 I
10 And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a son. 10 I
11 And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad. 10 I
12 And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a second son. 10 I
13 And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher. 10 I
14 And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son’s mandrakes. 10 I
15 And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son’s mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son’s mandrakes. 10 I
16 And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son’s mandrakes. And he lay with her that night. 10 I
17 And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son. 10 I
18 And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar. 10 I
19 And Leah conceived again, and bare Jacob the sixth son. 10 I
20 And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun. 10 I
21 And afterwards she bare a daughter, and called her name Dinah. 10 I
22 And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb. 10 I
23 And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach: 10 I
24 And she called his name Joseph; and said, The Lord shall add to me another son. 10 I
25 And it came to pass, when Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country. 10 I
26 Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee. 10 I
27 And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake. 10 I
28 And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will give it. 10 I
29 And he said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me. 10 I
30 For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the Lord hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also? 10 I
31 And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock. 10 I
32 I will pass through all thy flock to day, removing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my hire. 12 I
33 So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me. 10 I

2 Chronicles 7

1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.
2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house.
3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. 4 I
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord.
5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
6 And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the Lord, which David the king had made to praise the Lord, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.
7 Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brasen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat.
8 Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt.
9 And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.
10 And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the Lord had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.
11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the Lord, and the king’s house: and all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of the Lord, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.
12 And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 2 I
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 9 I
15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 2 I
16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. 2 I
17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments; 2 I
18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel. 2 I
19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.
21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

Luke 23

26 And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus. 5 I
27 And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him. 3 I
28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. 2 I
29 For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.
30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
32 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.
33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. 6 I
35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,
37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, This Is The King Of The Jews.
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 4 I
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. 4 I
44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 2 I
45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. 2 I
46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. 12 I
47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.
50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:
51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. 2 I
56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. 2 I
