1 Kings 17:7
And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. (1 Kings 17:7)
Dried up.
Elijah’s word to the king had gone into immediate effect. From the moment the words were uttered, there was no rain, and the whole land was becoming parched and seared. King and people refused to believe that the drought was a judgment from God. They insisted that Baal and Ashtoreth would yet give them the life-giving rain. Then the brook Cherith itself dried up.
