2 Chronicles 6:16
Now therefore, O Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me. (2 Chronicles 6:16)
Walk in my law.
Solomon understood the importance of loyalty to God and obedience to His holy law. He knew of the glory and peace that might be if Israel remained faithful to God, and he knew also the sad results that transgression would bring. Thus Solomon’s prayer became a sermon, presenting to the people a solemn and stirring appeal ever to remember God and to walk in His ways.
