Psalm 46:6
The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. (Psalm 46:6)
The earth melted.
Forceful language, figuratively showing God’s absolute power. The succession of short sentences, without conjunctions (the rhetorical figure of asyndeton), lends force to the vivid description.
The heathen.
Or, “the nations.”
