Proverbs 12:25
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad. (Proverbs 12:25)
Heaviness.
Literally, “care,” “anxiety.” An anxious heart cannot be filled with the promised peace of Christ, and anxiety is a denial of the faithfulness of God (see Ps. 37:1-11; Matt. 6:34; 1 Peter 5:7; PP 294). Heaviness can be greatly lightened by a word of hope and encouragement, and an exhortation to faith in the promises of God (see Isa. 35:3, 4).
